The fifteenth of August streaks the day of independence,

To commemorate the glory of an individual nation, this is to uphold prodigious significance.

The influencing significance that gleams in the eyes of Indians, hearts filled with pride,

Rises her flag, in tribute of the fighters who marched with a crave of national freedom and fought immensely with might.

A band of saffron, a shade of selflessness,

The longing fervour to achieve unity, an urge of courage, rising with restlessness.

The strength of our sanguine soldiers to preserve the country, confidence dripping with their sweat.

A grin of buoyant victory runs on their face and dread doesn’t run in their blood, dread not even in the ones seeped in the dirt.

An overlay of white extends its wings,

Unfurling peace upon the people, fluttering the diplomatic harmony amongst the citizens.

To form a robust union in a country of democracy, where truth serves greatest weapon,

To establish a truthful relation, for it is the supreme democracy, foreign reckon.

Amalgamating into the nation’s green fertility,

To illustrate the emerging growth of the nation and a positive forthcoming, a possibility.

With the creative strokes and the constructive knowledge to grow a world we dream,

India with it’s auspiciousness through the eye of green can passage onward it seems!

The Ashoka Chakra placed in the middle, attends as a depiction of the Dharmachakra,

Each indigo spoke in the wheel embodies a principle of life, the twenty-four representing the time.

As the trio of colours join and hold the insignia of life, they display the true power of Indians,

Those who made history fighting for independence, learn the present to understand the world, and to gain ground in rising a restored future.
